Our Story
K Bella opened in Brighton, Michigan in 2009 - a salon Kristan Sayers built around one promise: every client leaves feeling seen, listened to, and thrilled with their results. Sixteen years later, with a team of twenty-plus specialists and a clinical trichology practice unlike any other in the region, that promise still anchors everything we do.

Kristan has been behind the chair for more than twenty-five years. K Bella is what happens when a stylist who refuses to settle finally opens her own studio.
Before K Bella opened in 2009, Kristan spent years watching clients leave salons with hair that wasn't what they asked for. She built K Bella on the opposite instinct: a consultation that actually listens, a team that keeps learning, and a result you'll be excited to post about.
She's also one of Michigan's few clinically certified trichologists and a certified cranial prosthesis specialist - meaning she works with clients experiencing hair loss from alopecia, cancer treatment, autoimmune conditions, and other medical causes. It's the work she's most proud of and the reason K Bella has its own dedicated Wig Studio.
Most salons are one room. We have two, and the distance between them is deliberate. When we needed more space the only open unit was two doors down, so our landlord built us a vestibule to reach it - and the business in between turned out to be better soundproofing than a shared wall would ever have been. The salon floor is loud on purpose: fifteen chairs in one open room and everyone talking across it. The wig studio is the opposite, and stays that way. Sixteen years, three expansions, three remodels, every one of them driven by something a client needed and we did not have room for yet.
The main salon
Color, cuts, extensions, lash work, brides on a Saturday, music in the air, kids in the chair. The main floor is where K Bella's twenty-plus stylists do the bulk of their work - and where most clients meet their forever stylist.
The wig studio
The unit next door, reserved for clients navigating hair loss - alopecia, chemotherapy, trichotillomania, postpartum thinning. No reception traffic, no music, no waiting clients. Just Kristan, the right fitting tools, and the time to actually talk.
